Actor Alexander Ludwig is a dad! The Vikings alum and his wife Lauren have announced the arrival of their first child together. Their little one was born on April 27th and arrived 4 weeks before Lauren’s due date.

The couple welcomed a baby girl and chose to name her Leni James Ludwig. They shared that Alexander “was in another state filming and made it back just in time” and that Lauren has “a labor story for the books” but did not elaborate.

The couple announced in February that they were expecting their first child after suffering three pregnancy losses. At the time, The Covenant star shared, “It’s been a long road and we wanted to wait until things were looking promising this time around. Thank you guys for all of the support.” Alexander and Lauren had been open about their challenges to start a family.

Earlier last month, Lauren shared a vulnerable post on how she was feeling about pregnancy. “I don’t think enough people talk about how truly hard the day-to-day of pregnancy is,” the Their founder began. “Pregnancy is beautiful and an absolute miracle but it also comes with extreme challenges that not enough people express. So, if you’re pregnant and having a hard time mentally, you are not alone. If you have a little meltdown every time you try and get dressed, you are not alone. If you’re having a hard time with the physical changes your body is making, you are not alone. If your exercise and nutrition are taking a back seat, you are not alone. If you’re feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, you are not alone. Take it one day at a time and be kind and gentle with yourself. And above all know, you are not alone.” Alexander supported Laruen’s post in the comments writing, “So proud of you my love and so well said ❤️❤️❤️ ALMOST THERE BABY.”

Congratulations to Alexander and Lauren on the birth of their first child! We wish them lots of love as they welcome baby Leni into their world.
