Cincinatti Bengals back up quarterback, AJ McCarron, and his wife Katherine Webb-McCarron have welcomed their first child – a son named Tripp.
The new father took to Twitter with the announcement, writing: “Little man is here. We have a beautiful little boy a part of our family now!! Wow is he a long one. We love you Tripp McCarron. #proudparents”
The couple announced their pregnancy in December of last year, sharing a photo of them in front of an ultrasound machine. She wrote, “AJ and I feel beyond blessed and grateful to FINALLY announce after 4 months we have been keeping a secret. We are having a BOY! Thank you all so much for your prayers for us as it hasn’t been an easy journey. We thank God everyday for this wonderful blessing and can’t wait to share this journey with all of you!!”
AJ was the star quarterback for the University of Alabama and was considered for the Heisman Trophy in 2013. Webb-McCarron, a former Miss Alabama and Sports Illustrated model, gained fame when college football broadcasters and fans commented more on her beauty than the on-field activities during the 2013 BCS National Championship Game. The couple were married in 2014 in Orange Beach, Alabama.
According to babynames.com, Tripp is an American name which means “the third.”
