Reality star Mike Sorrentino, known as “The Situation” on the Jersey Shore reality show, has announced that he and his wife, Lauren Pesce, are expecting their first child together!
The couple shared the news with a picture of them and their dog Moses in their kitchen. The kitchen counter was covered in flour and written in it were the words, “Baby Sorrentino May 2021.” Mike coyly captioned his photo, “We have a Baby Situation.” In the second photo of his carousel post, Mike shared a closer shot of the flour message with sonogram pictures of his firstborn beside it. Lauren shared the same photos to her Instagram page and captioned the post, “Our biggest blessing is on its way.”
Many of Mike’s fellow Jersey Shore castmates extended their congratulations in the couple’s posts. Deena Cortese, who is pregnant with her second child, wrote to Lauren, “Soooo excited for you guys!!! You deserve all the happiness in the world! Pregnancy buddies.” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi also wrote to Lauren, “Sooo happy for you my mawma! Always here for you! Call me when your nipples grow the size of a small plate.”
Over on Mike’s post, co-star Pauly “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, wrote, “Now that’s a situation my dude!!!!”. Vinny Guadagnino jokingly shared, “Errrhhhhh meerrrrr gerrrrrddddd !!!! and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro said “Amazing!!!” followed by quite a few flex emojis.
Mike and Lauren met while attending community college together. They were both in the same math class. When Mike began shooting Jersey Shore, the couple took a break. After the show was over, they reconnected and dated for four before finally tying the knot. The couple was wed on November 1, 2018, at The Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. Mike proposed on Valentine’s Day that same year and fans of the Jersey Shore got to watch the engagement unfold on the reunion series Jersey Shore: Family Vacation that June.
