Bachelor alums Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham have announced that they are expecting their second child together!

Arie shared an image with Lauren and their 18-month-old daughter Alessi while holding a letterboard that read “Big Sister July 2021.” He captioned his photo saying, “And then 2020 completely redeemed itself!”

Lauren shared a touching video to her Instagram account that featured her and her family walking around together outdoors. Alessi wore a shirt that read “Big Sister.” The video featured a scene with Lauren cradling her growing baby bump. She captioned the post, “It’s hard to know what to say right now. I’ve been crying on and off for the past 3 months…right now is no different. So so grateful.”

In May of this year, Lauren shared that she suffered a missed miscarriage, which occurs when the embryo has died but has not been physically miscarried. The couple shared a video announcement to their YouTube page as well, where Lauren discussed becoming pregnant after miscarrying. “I’m filming this video and I’m one day shy of 12 weeks,” she said in the video, “I had to wait the whole time this time for my mental state to make sure everything was good.”

Lauren also discussed how the miscarriage affected what occurred in her current pregnancy. “I had a couple of freak-outs because I feel like I have a little bit of PTSD from the miscarriage that we had earlier this year. Anytime my extreme nausea went away, I was like, ‘Oh my God, are they okay?’ Call my doctor crying like, ‘What’s happening? Are they okay?’ She was like talking me off the ledge.”

We’re thrilled that Arie and Lauren are pregnant with their rainbow baby. We wish them continued to good health and a warm congratulations!
