At the end of every year, our team rounds up the best and worst celebrity baby names on the BabyNames Podcast. With the first half of 2024 behind us, there’s no better time to round up some of the best and worst names revealed so far for this year. Without further ado, here are this year’s picks so far.
Best: Eloise Samantha Grainge, the daughter and first baby of media personality Sofia Richie and Elliot Grange. A name that was once quite popular in the 1950s, Eloise has been steadily climbing in popularity since the 2010s and probably got a boost this past couple of years from Bridgerton. We love the resurgence of a traditionally older name.

Worst: Brother László Criss, the second baby of actor and musician Darren Criss and his wife Mia Swier. The moniker seems a bit too on-the-nose and, frankly, unnecessary. However, the middle name László is great and a wonderful alternative should Brother decide to use his middle name instead.
Best: River Rose Viall, the first baby for Bachelor star Nick Viall and his wife Natalie Joy. The alliteration sounds beautiful for the pairing of these two classic names.
Worst: Rhiannon Lee Kathryn Kazee, actress Jenna Dewan’s third baby and her second with her husband Steven Kazee. Try saying this name five times fast. Now, on their own, all these names are beautiful. Together, the rhyming pattern feels a little like a character from a children’s book.

Best: Chasen Rothschild, the third baby for socialite Nicky Hilton and James Rothschild. Chasen was actually born in 2022 but his name wasn’t revealed until this year. The name merges two names: Chase and Jason for a unique twist on two classic names.
Worst: Aero Lore Daugherty, baby number 2 for actor Brant Daugherty and his wife Kimberly. This moniker sounds more like a character in a fantasy novel and less like a person’s actual name.
Best: Mirabella May Roloff, Jeremy and Audrey Roloff’s fourth baby. A name that’s not topping any popularity charts, Mirabella is a unique name that doesn’t feel over-the-top. Pairing the moniker with the middle name May adds nice simplicity to it.

Worst: Valley Scott, Teen Mom alum Kailyn Lowry and her partner Elijah Scott’s twin daughter. Dictionary word names can be hit or miss and this one feels like a miss.
Best: Rowen Lily, the first baby of Bachelor‘s Clare Crawley and Ryan Dawkins. Nature-inspired names are very popular and this pairing sounds beautiful together without sounding too aggressively nature-related.
Worst: Caius Chai Curry, NBA player Stephen Curry and actress Ayesha Curry’s fourth baby. Another name where the moniker’s aren’t bad but rather the pairing, the end part of Caisus’s name – Chai Curry – looks like an item on a menu in a restaurant.
