Country singer Cody Johnson is adding another bundle of joy to his family! The “I’m Gonna Love You” singer and his wife Brandi are expecting their third baby together. The musician announced the news at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards and revealed their baby’s sex.
While walking the red carpet at the event, the singer shared the couple’s pregnancy news and gender reveal with PEOPLE, “We’re having a little boy! We decided to make this our announcement to the world and our gender reveal as well.” Cody, who’s song “Dirt Cheap” won ACM’s Song of the Year, didn’t share when Brandi is due to give birth.
This little one will be Cody and Brandi’s first son. The couple shares two daughters: Clara Mae, 10, and Cori, 8. As for how the two are feeling about having a brother, the musician gushed, “My girls .. you can’t beat my girls, I love my two girls with all my heart. I think I’m excited to watch them help raise this little boy.” Cody also spoke to how he feels more stable in his career this time around and how that will affect his baby boy. “[I’m] a lot better off now as far as career and financially, than I was when we had [Clara and Cori]. He’s gonna get a horse a little quicker than my kids did. He’s going to get to do some things a little quicker than my daughters did.”
When the “‘Til You Can’t” singer was asked if he always hoped he would have a son, he emphatically answered, “Yes,” before adding, “I didn’t care if this one was a boy or a girl, but I was pretty happy when I saw the gender reveal.” Cody, who previously had a career as a bull rider, and his wife first met as teenagers but didn’t start dating until years later. The “Dear Rodeo” singer asked Brandi to marry him after one year of dating and the two tied the knot in 2008.
Congratulations to Cody and Brandi on the news of their baby boy!
