Country singer Jennifer Wayne of the group Runaway June is expecting her first child! Jennifer and her husband Austin Moody, a fellow musician, enlisted the help of their dogs to help share the news on Instagram. Their pregnancy wasn’t the only news the couple had to share: they also revealed the gender and name of their little one.

It’s a girl! “OH BABY!!!!” Jennifer wrote in her caption, “@theaustinmoody and I are bringing the pups home a little girl!!!” The “We Were Rich” singer revealed that her daughter would arrive in April of 2022. The name the couple has chosen for their daughter is Lily Maria Moody. Such a classic, beautiful choice!

Jennifer, who is the granddaughter of late film star John Wayne, first met Austin at Ocean Way Studios in Nashville five years ago. It wasn’t until 2020 that the couple reconnected for a very touching reason. Jennifer’s bandmate Natalie Stovall sent her a message that would end up changing her life. Jennifer relayed the story to People magazine sharing, “Austin found a dog that had been left on the freeway. He knew Natalie, and he knew she loved dogs. So, he sent the picture of the dog to Natalie, and Natalie said, ‘Oh, Jen saves dogs…we need to send to Jen.’ The rest is history!”

The couple didn’t waste any time. They got engaged in December of 2020 after six months of dating and tied the knot just two weeks later in January of 2021. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, they hosted a small ceremony with less than 20 guests, inviting only close family and friends. It was important to the couple to keep themselves and their family safe as Jennifer went through her own battle with COVID-19 at the start of the pandemic in 2020. After the pandemic subsides more, the couple plan to have a huge ceremony in Nashville to celebrate.

Congratulations to Jennifer and Austin on growing their family! We wish them lots of love as they prepare to welcome Lily into the world.
