Former Olympian Michael Phelps took to Instagram today to announce the birth of his third child with wife Nicole. The family welcomed their third son on September 9th.
The Phelps family have chosen to name their new son Maverick Nicholas. He even has his own Instagram account already! Maverick joins his two older brothers, Boomer and Beckett, into the family. It’s a house full of little boys in this family!
Michael became a father for the first time in May 2016 when he and Nicole welcomed Boomer into the world. Just over a month later, the couple wed in an intimate backyard ceremony in Tempe, Arizona. However, that news wasn’t revealed until much later. The couple had a formal wedding later that year on October 29 in Mexico.

Happy 2nd Anniversary to the man of my dreams ❤️ there’s a lot of things in life we question or wish something might be different but there’s never been a doubt in my mind or a second where I’m not thankful you’re my partner, my husband and the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. ❤️ you make me a better person, wife and mom daily – sometimes even when you don’t realize. I look forward to all our lives bring us while we walk this journey together hand in hand.
On February 13, 2018, the family grew by one more, adding Beckett to the crew. We’re so excited for this beautiful family and wish them all the love in bringing Maverick home.
