Actress Lily Collins is a mom! The Emily in Paris star announced the arrival of her first baby with her husband Charlie McDowell. The couple welcomed their little one via surrogate and hadn’t previously shared they were growing their family.

The actress, who is the daughter of musician Phil Collins, shared a picture of her newborn baby on Instagram lying in a bassinet and what appeared to be Lily’s handing on the baby’s chest. The couple welcomed a baby girl and chose to name her Tove Jane McDowell. Tove shares a middle name with her mom. “Welcome to the center of our world,” the MaXXXine star wrote. The actress went on to express her gratitude for her surrogate and her journey to motherhood. “Words will never express our endless gratitude for our incredible surrogate and everyone who helped us along the way. We love you to the moon and back again…”

Lily’s baby news comes on the heels of the actress sharing a touching post for her father for his 74th birthday. She shared a throwback picture of the two together when he earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a more recent image of them from her West End debut in Barcelona. She wrote, “From a west coast star to the West End stage and everywhere in between — I’m so grateful to be by your side and for the support, experiences, and love we have and will continue to share. The older I get, the greater I appreciate all the little, special moments spent together. Happy birthday Dad. I couldn’t love you more or be more thankful to celebrate you today and every day. Truly. To the moon and back again…”

Lily and Charlie, the son of actress Mary Steenburgen, were first romantically linked in early 2019. The director asked Lily to marry him the following year and the two tied the knot in September 2021 in Colorado at Dunton Hot Springs.

Congratulations to Lily and Charlie on the arrival of baby Tove!
