5SOS Singer Luke Hemmings Quietly Welcomed Baby #1 with Wife Sierra Deaton: ‘Best Kept Secret’
Musician Luke Hemmings is a dad! The 5 Seconds of Summer band member and his wife Sierra Deaton announced they welcomed their first baby together. The couple hadn’t previously shared that they were expecting a baby.
The couple shared a joint Instagram post to announce their baby news, with two close-up images of their baby and three pictures of the couple while Sierra was pregnant. The singer and his wife welcomed a baby girl, but they didn’t reveal any further details. They captioned the post, “Our best kept secret Written and Produced by Sierra and Luke Hemmings.”
In the comments section of the announcement post, the singer opened up about the couple’s decision to keep Sierra’s pregnancy quiet and other information bout their little one they’re choosing not to share. “In our perfect world, we’d keep our daughter a secret forever… for similar reasons we chose to never share our wedding photos from years ago. However, going into this next album cycle I’m very aware that her existence would inevitably leak.” He continued, “To avoid any speculation, we’re posting this now and humbly asking for everyone to respect her privacy. If you see us in public, please avoid taking or sharing photos of her as we don’t plan on publicizing her name, birthdate, or face any time in the near future. Thank you for understanding and for the support. All our love, The Hemmings”
The “Youngblood” singer and Sierra, a fellow singer, started dating in 2018 and got engaged in February 2021. They didn’t reveal they had gotten engaged until June of that year. The singer hinted that the couple had tied the knot in a TikTok video in 2022. Luke posted a video of himself playing the guitar and singing along to Sierra’s song, “Little Do You Know.” He added a voiceover that said, “When you marry the girl that wrote this banger.” They later confirmed they had gotten married.
