Actor Penn Badgley has been having an exciting year so far with the series finale of his hit Netflix show You and the news of his wife Domino Kirke pregnant with the couple’s twin babies. As he’s been making the media rounds to promote his show, a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Staring Jimmy Fallon had the actor clarifying a misconception about his first baby with Domino. “His name is not James.”
Penn and Domino welcomed their first baby together in 2020 and when announcing their baby’s birth, they shared his sex but didn’t reveal his name. Somewhere along the lines, Wikipedia reported that the couple named their son James. The Gossip Girl star shared in his recent interview “This is a very weird thing to say but our littlest who is 4… his name is not James.” He went on to explain that the couple attempted to correct the information online. “The internet, on Wikipedia, for many years, his name was James. And we’d get it removed, it would go back.”
Penn addressed why he chose to finally open up about this misinformation sharing, “I just thought, ‘Well, you know what? I have a platform, why not clear the air?'” He also admitted that it isn’t only the general public making this mistake, but friends of the family as well. “There are people who are close to the family,” he explained, “who haven’t seen us in a while, they send us a card and it says, ‘To all of us and James.'” As for what the couple actually named their son, they’re keeping that information under wraps. “His name, because he’s 4,” the Easy A star explained, “will remain undisclosed for as long as we can.” He did hint, “It’s a good name though!”
Last month, the couple revealed that their twins are both boys and it’s unlikely when they’re born that they will share the baby names they choose for them. Domino also has a son from a previous relationship, whose name is Cassius. The couple’s twin boys are due this summer.
