Last New Year’s Eve, actress Samantha Hanratty gave birth to her first baby with her husband Christian DeAnda. The Yellowjackets star kept the name of her newborn under wraps… until today. Samantha revealed her baby’s name, a son, on Instagram.
The new mom posted two images where she held her son, who was wrapped in a gray swaddle, close. She revealed his name in a simple caption. The couple chose to name their first baby Levi. “My little Levi☀️” Levi is a Hebrew name that means “Joined In Harmony.”
Samantha gave birth to Levi, who was born with a cleft lip, on December 31st. At the time she wrote on Instagram, “And just like that… my world got a little brighter.” The Atlas star and her husband announced last August that they were expecting a baby. Their pregnancy news came less than one year after the couple tied the knot in California in November 2023.
The actress has been open about her son’s cleft lip and shared about his surgery last month. In an interview with PEOPLE, she shared, “The surgeon did such an amazing job! It was a three-hour surgery and it was absolutely terrifying but our little one is so strong! He just has a couple more weeks of stents in his nose, and then he’s gonna be all good to go.” During the same interview, the actress, who was pregnant while filming season three of Yellowjackets, discussed the challenges she faced at the time. “The season was crazy and it was very difficult. In those moments, being able to overcome it and be like, ‘Damn, I literally just had an extremely difficult pregnancy and I did the show, I feel very proud and accomplished,’ that’s absurd.”
