Actress Mindy Kaling has shared the surprising news that she has welcomed her second child during quarantine!
Mindy, 41 appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and shared that she welcomed her second child last month. It’s a boy! “I’m telling it for the first time now, it feels so strange. But I gave birth to a baby boy on September 3,” Kaling told Stephen.
Stephen was surprised, as we all were, and replied, “No one even knew you were pregnant!” The actress coyly answered, “I know! I know! This is news to a lot of people. It’s true.”
The Mindy Project star also revealed her new son’s name, Spencer.
Spencer is Mindy’s second child. She gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Katherine in December of 2017.
Mindy, who keep her personal life very private, has since not revealed the identity of the father of her daughter nor her son. She has not been publicly linked romantically to anyone in quite some time. She has also shared very few images of her daughter online and, when she does, Katherine’s face is always covered. Mindy appears to be going the same route with her son, given the first picture she’s released with him.
The Office alum is not the first celebrity to welcome a surprise baby during quarantine! Actresses Billy Lourd, Amanda Seyfriend, and Jessica Biel all welcomed children during the pandemic while keeping their pregnancies private.
