NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace is going to be a dad! The race car driver and his wife Amanda Carter have announced they are expecting their first baby together. To share the news, the couple posted a cute poem that revealed their baby’s due date.

In their Instagram announcement, the couple posted a colleague of images, most of which showed the couple sitting in a vintage car. The last image even featured their Australian shepherd-poodle, Asher. Bubba and Amanda captioned the video with a poem, “Spring has sprung. Summer will be rad. Fall is the first time, We’ll be mom and dad!” They then revealed that their newborn is due to arrive this coming October. On X, the professional driver joked that his little one is due the same week as his own birthday, which is on October 8th. “‘It would be the worst to have a baby on your birthday/birthday week,’ Me: ‘well damn…okay’ Coming…my birthday week🤣🤣🤣.”

Bubba and Amanda first met in high school but didn’t begin a romantic relationship until after graduating. Last year in an interview with PEOPLE, the NASCAR driver spoke of his relationship calling it, “special. We still reminisce or talk about things from the past. We just know so much about each other’s lives from so long ago.”

The couple tied the knot on New Year’s Eve in 2022 in Charlotte, North Carolina, with the two exchanging handwritten vows. Of their nuptials, Bubba shared at the time, “Getting married, and starting a new life together, I’m just so excited to have a good one in my corner. We have so much fun together.” On their one-year wedding anniversary, Amanda took to Instagram to commemorate the occasion and wrote, “Feeling on top of the world after our first year of marriage! Man, I wish we could go back and relive the most epic night our lives. So excited for many more years of marriage with the love of my life.”

Congratulations to Bubba and Amanda on their pregnancy! We wish them all the best as they prepare for parenthood.
