Actors Daveed Diggs and Emmy Raver-Lampman have taken on a new role: parents! The couple has announced the birth of their first baby together. The Hamilton co-stars announced in September that they were expecting their first baby.

In a joint Instagram post, the couple shared a close-up image of their newborn’s feet, which appeared to be resting on a pillow. Daveed and Emmy did not share any details about their little one, including their name and sex. This is not unlike the couple as they tend to keep their personal lives private. In the caption, The Umbrella Academy star wrote a heartwarming and relatable message. “dear baby, you have forever changed us. our hearts are filled with a kind of love we never thought possible. we love you more than you will truly ever know. thank you for choosing us. now please…go the f*ck to sleep. love, mom and dad.” The Little Mermaid star commented on the post, “Shout out to @adammansbach for writing the realest children’s book of all time,” which refers to Adam Mansbach’s children’s book “Go the F*ck to Sleep.”

The actors met for the first time in 2015 after both were cast in the first Broadway cast of Hamilton. Daveed portrayed Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson and Emmy stared as Eliza Schuyler and Angelica Schuyler in the production tour. The couple began dating romantically a few years later, but have kept their relationship largely private.

In 2021, the couple gave a little bit of insight into their lives together in an interview with Architectural Digest discussing their Southern California home. The Beekeeper star shared of the couple’s home, “This may be our first house together, but I already see us and our families and our community and our passions everywhere I look. Having a home like this definitely makes it harder to be away. Now I really understand what it means to miss home; because there is really no other place I want to be.”

Congratulations to Daveed and Emmy on the arrival of their first baby!
