Reality star Jessica Batten has welcomed her first baby! The Love is Blind star has announced the birth of her little one with her husband Benjamin McGrath. The couple welcomed their child on June 9th and have revealed their name.
Jessica and Benjamin, who announced their pregnancy earlier this year, welcomed a baby boy and chose to name their son Dax McGrath. While Dax is Jessica’s first baby, he is Benjamin’s third. The surgeon shares a daughter, Poppy, and a son, Ethan, with a previous partner. The couple’s announcement post featured images of the children holding their baby brother.
Despite appearing on a reality series looking for a partner, Jessica didn’t find a romantic partner while filming the first season of Love is Blind. However, it did lead to her meeting Benjamin. The doctor reached out to Jessica on Instagram after the Netflix show’s premiere in February 2020. The couple went on their first date just before the COVID-19 lockdown in March and continued their relationship throughout the beginning months of the pandemic. In September 2021, Benjamin asked Jessica to marry him and they tied the knot one month later in October in a small ceremony at a historic courthouse in Santa Barbara. The following year, the couple celebrated with a large wedding surrounded by family and friends.
At the end of last month, Jessica reflected on the couple’s marriage while being pregnant writing, “9 months after tying the knot and we’re hanging out in our nursery waiting on a new addition (🤯 !) I want to bottle up this time as newlyweds, it has been my favorite, but I’m also so ready to meet our baby!” This past April after not sharing a new post since October, Benjamin shared a post gushing over his wife. “Since it’s been 6 months since I have shared anything it’s been way too long since I’ve publicly acknowledged how grateful I am for this girl in my life. The company we keep definitively shapes who we are and who we become. Loving this life we are building together and the humans we are becoming (and the human we are creating!)”
