Actress Julia Stiles is a mother of three! The Chosen Family star revealed in an interview that she secretly welcomed a baby last year. The little one is Julia’s third baby with her husband Preston Cook, a fellow actor.

Julia sat was interviewed with The New York Times about her directorial debut for the film Wish You Were Here. The 10 Things I Hate About You alum shared about starting her first directing gig, “I’m kind of like a bundle of emotions, because I have a 5-month-old baby and I went into directing my first movie.” Production for the film wrapped this past February.

When speaking about not divulging she was pregnant, the actress simply shared, “I didn’t really talk about it.” Julia did not reveal any details about her new arrival, including their name and sex. With her husband, Julia shares two children, both sons: Strummer, 6, and Arlo, 2. The Save the Last Dance star revealed that she’s still in a bit of a haze with her newborn. “I am running on fumes in terms of sleep. But I feel more energized than I ever have.” The actress opened up about how motherhood shaped her skill as a director. “I think that actually being a mom is really great training for being a director. You have to think 10 steps ahead but also be in the present moment. You have to be good at time management. You have to be sensitive to people’s needs and guide them, but also hold a boundary.”

Julia and Preston first met in 2015 on the set of the thriller movie Blackway. They got engaged on Christmas that year and went on to tie the knot in September 2017. The actress was actually pregnant with Strummer at the time, who was born a few months later in November 2017. At the time, she joked in an Instagram post, “Who doesn’t love a shotgun wedding?”
