Colombian rapper Maluma is a father! The musician has announced the arrival of his first baby, whom he shares with his partner Susana Gomez. The “Procura” singer revealed he had a baby on the way last October.

Maluma and Susana welcomed a baby girl on March 9th and they chose to name her Paris Londoño Gomez. The couple revealed Susana’s pregnancy in one of Maluma’s music videos and alluded to Paris’s name with a featured close-up of French city spelled out in a necklace worn by Susana. The rapper later confirmed they planned to name their daughter Paris in an interview with NPR.

In his post announcing Paris’s birth, Maluma wrote, as translated, “Thank you all for your birthday messages and well wishes. Susana.. Love: Thank you for fulfilling my biggest dream of being a Father, I will never forget that moment.” In his NPR interview, Maluma gushed about this exciting new journey in his life sharing, “It’s perfect timing. I mean, all the beautiful things that I’m living. I’m looking for more personal experiences too, you know? I love my music. I love being on tour, but I also want to keep growing as a human being, not only as an artist.”

He went on to describe the advice his father gave to him. “My dad’s like wait ‘til you hold her in your arms. Wait for that feeling and then wait for them to start walking…’” The “Chantaje” singer continued, “It’s a beautiful journey, you know I’m here to learn. I think these kids come into this world to teach us a bunch of things so I’m ready to learn. It’s crazy. It’s a crazy feeling that only parents can understand… but I just love this feeling and my days are brighter than ever.”

Congratulations to Maluma and Susana on the arrival of baby Paris!
