Congratulations to Bode Miller and his wife, Morgan Miller, who welcomed a baby boy on Friday October 5.
The couple have not yet revealed their new son’s name, but this is their third child together, and Bode’s fifth total.
Their new arrival comes nearly four months after the tragic death of their 19-month-old daughter Emeline, who accidentally drowned in a neighbor’s pool. Morgan was five months pregnant at the time of the accident.
Their midwife, Lindsey Meehleis, shared the first photo from the baby’s water birth with the Today show, telling the morning news program: “Exactly one month before Emmy’s second birthday… the sun rose and they knew this day would be different. An overwhelming feeling of joy started to fill a valley of deep grief and sadness.”
She added: “Morgan’s fingers grasped onto their son, who filled such empty arms. While nothing will ever replace the feeling of aching arms to hold Emmy again, this baby provided something new this day: joy, inspiration and hope.”
Bode and Morgan are parents to 3-year-old Nash and Bode has two children from previous relationships: Samuel, 5, and Neesyn, 10.
