Actress Stana Katic, most notably known for starring in the TV series Castle as Kate Beckett, revealed surprising news on Father’s Day this weekend. Stana, who had not previously shared she was pregnant nor had welcomed a child, shared an Instagram post on Father’s Day honoring her husband Kris Brkljac. After the surprising post, the truth was revealed.
A representative for the couple confirmed the news to Us Weekly that the couple “had a baby this winter and have been enjoying the time since cocooning as a family.” No information about the couple’s child – including their name, gender, and birth date – has been revealed.
The post on Stana’s Instagram page that initiated speculation was the actress’s first post since taking a social media pause in October of 2021. Stana shared three images of her and Kris, an entrepreneur, with the caption, “Happy Fathers Day to all the Pappys out there, but an especially Happy Pappy’s Day to my love. Best decision I ever made was joining forces with you. We love you and are so glad we get to share this life together. ❤️💋 #Blessed.”
The Absentia star has kept her relationship with Kris rather private. While the couple has been photographed together since 2007, it’s unclear when exactly they began dating, though reports claim the two met through Stana’s brother Marko Katic. After dating for several years, they tied the knot in April 2015 on the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia at a private family monastery.
