Actor Tom Hiddleston, most noteably known for portraying the role of Loki in Marvel Universe productions, is gearing up to take on a new role: a father! The Avengers star and his new fiancée, actress Zawe Ashton, are expecting their first child together. The couple revealed their news with Zawe walking the red carpet in New York City for a special screening of the actress’s film Mr. Malcolm’s List, where she showed off her growing baby bump.
While Tom wasn’t in attendance at the event, Zawe was stunning on the carpet in a bead-embellished tulle gown by Sabina Bilenko Couture. The actress confirmed her pregnancy during a behind-the-scenes look at her glam session prior to the event. Neither Tom nor Zawe made an official announcement on their Instagram pages.
The couple’s pregnancy news comes just a few months after news of their engagement was revealed. Zawe was photographed in March at the 2022 BAFTA Awards with a ring on her wedding finger. A few days after her appearance on the red carpet, the news was confirmed that Tom and Zawe were engaged. The couple, who are very private, starred in the Broadway play Betrayal together in 2019. Reportedly, this is when the couple began a relationship, but it wasn’t until September of 2021 that they made their debut as a couple while walking the red carpet together at the Tony Awards.
Tom made a rare comment regarding his relationship earlier this month. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, The Essex Serpent star shared, “I’m very happy.”
