In April, singer Bishop Briggs, whose real name is Sarah Grace McLaughlin, revealed that she was expecting her first child. Now, the “Revolution” singer has announced the arrival of her little one, whom she shares with her husband Landon Jacobs, frontman of the band Sir Sly.
Bishop shared a simple post to announce her child’s arrival. She shared an image of her baby’s foot wrapped in a cream-colored blanket. She captioned the post, “WORTH THE WAIT.” No details were revealed about the “High Water” singer’s child, including their name, sex, or birth date.
Last year, Bishop lost her sister Kate to ovarian cancer. The singer struggled with the loss of her sister and has been open about the challenges she faced in the months following. She struggled with depression and, as she revealed to Nylon magazine in June, it wasn’t until she had a tough conversation with her husband that she realized she needed to make a change. “My husband said, ‘I think that’s more so for cases where you’re obsessing over killing yourself.’ A silence fell between us,” Bishop recalled. “I’ll never forget it. I wish I could. I nodded. Now, he knew what I’d been fighting so hard to keep inside. Tears began streaming down the eyes I had grown to trust so deeply over the years. That conversation with my husband marked the first step in my journey toward actively living each day in honor of Kate.”
Bishop, who performed at Coachella this year, has kept her relationship with Landon rather private but did announce their engagement this past December. It’s unclear when the couple tied the knot, but for her birthday this year, Landon wrote a touching caption for his partner where he referred to her as his wife. “Happy Birthday to the love of my life, my partner, wife, best friend, and future mother of our child. It’s an honor to be your husband, and I can’t wait to raise our kiddo together.”
