Reality stars Amber Pike and Matt Barnett are going to be parents! The couple, who met on season one of the Netflix dating reality show Love Is Blind, announced they are expecting their first baby together. They revealed the news on the first episode of The Love Seat podcast, hosted by fellow season one Love Is Blind castmates Lauren and Cameron Hamilton.
On the episode, Amber gave a life update sharing, “I sent myself back to school because I felt like we were in a place where I could do that, like, I had the support and I was mentally there.” Then, she revealed her pregnancy, “Then, over summer break, [Matt] just went and knocked me up.” In response, Lauren gushed, “There’s a baby Barnett on the way!” On when the little one was conceived, Amber joked that it might have happened at Cameron’s birthday party. “It might have been during Cam’s birthday party — it might have already been. So little baby B might come out ready to throw down with us.” The couple didn’t share when their first baby is due.
Following the episode release, Amber shared a video montage to her Instagram page to share the news. The video showed images of the couple throughout their relationship. The final image showed the couple in the studio with Lauren and Cameron, with Amber’s baby bump showing in her fitted white jumpsuit. “Where it started. Where we’ve been. Where we’re at…” the reality star captioned in her post.
Amber and Matt met on the reality show in 2018 and tied the knot by the season finale in November 2018. The show wasn’t released on the streaming service until February 2020. On their fifth wedding anniversary last year, the reality star penned an touching message to her husband writing in an Instagram post, “5 years later and somehow I really do love you more today than the day we said ‘I do’. Don’t get me wrong, every day hasn’t been perfect and Lord knows there is plenty that we have gotten wrong over the years, but the most important thing that I’m so thankful that we’ve gotten right is how much we are willing to work for each other to keep growing together. I love you more today than I did then, not because our love is perfect(or “blind” ), but because our eyes are wide open and our love is deliberate and intentional. Our love is greater now than it was then because it is a choice we have made and put effort in to every day for the past 5 years and I know that is something we will continue to do for the rest of our lives.”
