NFL player Patrick Mahomes is a father of two! The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and his wife Brittany Mahomes have welcomed their third baby together. The couple also revealed the moniker they chose for their newborn.
Patrick and Brittany shared their baby news in a joint Instagram post that featured a close-up of their newborn’s feet with a round wooden plaque that displayed their baby’s name. To ensure Patrick would be present for the birth of his third baby, Brittany was induced during the Chief’s bye week ahead of the playoffs. The couple welcomed a baby girl, whose sex they revealed in July, on January 12th. They chose to name their second daughter Golden Raye Mahomes. The couple shared in early July that they were growing their family.
Golden’s name follows a unique naming pattern the couple has for their children. The NFL player and his wife welcomed their first baby in February 2021, a daughter named Sterling Skye and their second baby, born in November 2022, was named after his father: Patrick Lavon Mahomes III. However, the little one goes by the name Bronze. All the couple’s children feature names after metals. Golden is seemingly the last baby the couple will have, as the athlete shared that after baby number 3, he is “done” having kids.
The quarterback and his wife have been together since attending high school in their Texas hometown. The couple got engaged in September 2020 and their daughter Sterling arrived less than a year later in February 2021. Just after celebrating Sterling’s first birthday, Patrick and Brittany tied the knot in March 2022 in a private ceremony in Hawaii.
Congratulations to Patrick and Brittany on the birth of baby Golden!
