NFL player TJ Watt is a dad! The Pittsburgh Steelers player and his wife Dani have announced the birth of their first baby together. “Worth the wait.”

The athletic couple post a series of black and white images featuring their newborn, with most shots taking place in the hospital following the baby’s arrival. TJ and Dani welcomed a baby girl and chose to name her Blakely Marie Watt. “Welcome To The World.” The two hadn’t previously shared their baby’s sex until now. In her Instagram Stories, Dani shared the post and wrote about her daughter, “Everything I prayed for and everything my heart needed. We love you more than anything Blakely Girl.”

The couple’s joint Instagram post was flooded with love from family and friends. The NFL player’s brother JJ Watt, who also plays in the NFL and is currently expecting his second baby, gushed over his new niece, “Welcome to the world Blakely!!!!!” Fellow Steelers player Russell Wilson commented on his teammate’s post, “Congrats y’all! What a blessing!” The official account for the Steelers team also chimed in celebratory remarks writing, “Congratulations .” Marissa Lawrence, who recently welcomed her first baby with NFL player Trevor Lawrence, excitedly commented, “She is perfect!!! Congratulations being a girl mom is the BEST!!”

TJ and the former soccer player announced in September that they were expecting their first baby. The couple dated for six years before tying the knot in July 2022 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. On Thanksgiving this year, the new dad gushed over his wife on Instagram writing, “Very thankful for this family we are starting. You are crushing pregnancy @danimariewatt.”
