Zara Tindall, the daughter of Princess Anne, Queen Elizabeth’s only daughter, is expecting her third child with her husband, retired rugby player Mike Tindall.

Mike broke the news on his podcast, “The Good, the Bad & the Rugby.” He shared, “It’s been a good week for me. Had a little scan last week, third Tindall on its way.”

Zara, an Olympic equestrian, and Mike share two daughters together, Mia Grace, 6, and Lena Elizabeth, 2. Zara is also godmother to Prince George, the oldest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Mike shared that this time around, he would like to welcome a baby boy. “I’d like a boy this time. I’ve got two girls, I would like a boy. I will love it whether a boy or a girl — but please be a boy,” he said. Mike also joked that the couple may consider a COVID-19 moniker for their third child, like “Covey or Covina.” We’ll have to wait to find out whether Mike was, in fact, joking or not. (And we’re secretly hoping he is!)

The couple has not yet told Mia or Lena the news that they’ll be having a baby brother or sister. “We haven’t told Mia yet just because we knew she would tell everyone at school. We will tell her now that we’ve gone through the scan. I think she’ll be happy about it. She has been requesting another sister or brother, so we’ve hopefully fulfilled that role for her. She just wants something different now. Lena is growing up – she’s two-and-a-half now. She wants someone younger to play with and dress up.”

Congratulations to Zara and Mike on growing their family! We look forward to seeing another royal baby added to the family and can’t wait to learn more about this little one.
