Actor Alexander Ludwig, most notably known for portraying the role of Bjorn Lothbrok in the TV series Vikings, announced heartwarming news for his family. Alexander and his wife Lauren are expecting their first child together! “We couldn’t be more grateful.”
The couple sadly suffered three miscarriages prior to this pregnancy. “It’s been a long road,” the Hunger Games star began his post, “and we wanted to wait until things were looking promising this time around. Thank you guys for all of the support.” Lauren revealed that the couple’s child is due to arrive this May. She also reflected on her pregnancy losses writing, “As a lot of you know it’s been a long road for Alexander and myself. We suffered 3 losses before this one but each one of those losses taught us about ourselves and each other. To everyone out there who has suffered miscarriages before, there is light on the other side of your journey. You are not alone.”
Fellow celebrities flooded the comment section of Alexander’s post to wish the couple congratulations. Alexander’s Vikings co-star and on-screen mother Katheryn Winnick wrote, “So happy for you both!!!” Actor Alex Høgh Andersen, who also starred in Vikings, commented “Yeeeees. So happy for you beautiful people. ❤️❤️ All the best.” Actress Ashley Greene, who welcomed her first child in September, wrote, “Yay yay yay!!! So happy for you both.”
In July 2020, the couple, who co-founded the recycled jewelry company Their, made their relationship public. Just a few months later in November 2020, they announced their engagement. The couple eloped a few weeks later at The Lodge at Blue Sky, a private mountain retreat near Salt Lake City, Utah. At the time, Lauren explained, “This last year was filled with a lot of uncertainty and doubt but this was the easiest decision of my life. I think we all learned in some way or another to look inside ourselves and find what truly makes us happy. Thank you to 2020 for bringing this guy into my life.”
