Actor Henry Golding, who famously portrayed the role of Nick Young in the film Crazy Rich Asians, has announced the arrival of his first child with his wife Liv Lo. The couple welcomed their first child together last Wednesday on March 31st. Henry shared a touching black and white photo featuring his family to announce the news.

Henry shared a touching message to the mother of his child in his announcement post. “This woman right here. Beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Your strength brought us our greatest joy. Thank you, I love you.” Neither Henry nor Liv have revealed the name or gender of their newborn.

Liv, a fitness instructor, shared photos of herself in the hospital during the birth as well as a touching image of her holding her newborn’s hand. In the caption of her announcement, she shared that she would be taking a “maternity leave” from Instagram.

She wrote an article in FitSphere where she discussed her decision to take 40 days of leave. “40 days, or about 6 weeks postpartum, is the first postpartum exam with your OBGYN. Until this clearance happens I am not keen to get back to work or sharing with the world how I am feeling. This may come as a shock or disappointment; however, in my self-reflection, it has become clear that I need to set these boundaries for myself and my family.”

In her letter, Liv also shared that she’s unsure of what her career holds for her. “Being 35 now and looking back at my career it dawns on me that I have not stopped working since I started at age 18. Besides taking a week hiatus from Instagram when my brother passed I have continuously worked as a model, presenter, fitness instructor, and wellness entrepreneur to date.

“Now, looking at the next inevitable step in my career as a mother-to-be, I am unsure if I will be a multi-hyphenate or if I will simply be a SAHM (stay-at-home mom).”

Congratulations to Henry and Liv on the arrival of their first child! We wish them all the best as they embrace this new adventure together.
