White Lotus star Theo James and Finding Joy actress Ruth Kearney are growing their family! A source close to the couple have confirmed with US Weekly that they are expecting a baby. The news comes after speculation the actress was pregnant following a social media post where she appeared to have a baby bump.
The source shared with the news outlet that Theo and Ruth “are expecting their second baby,” who is “due late this summer.” The sex of their second child was also shared. The couple is expecting a baby girl! “They are both wildly excited to be parents again.” In April, Ruth shared photos from a trip the family took to Palm Springs, California. In one image, the actress wore a yellow dress that hugged her stomach, and she appeared to have a baby bump. However, the news wasn’t officially confirmed until today.
Theo and Ruth welcomed their first baby, a daughter, in August 2021. The couple has not shared the name of their child and has also not shared images of her online, except for where her face is covered. It wasn’t until May of last year that the actor spoke about becoming a father. He shared with InStyle, “[Fatherhood] definitely changes you in an amazing way. It’s discombobulating at first. Especially with your first child because your whole life changes, but ultimately it makes you — definitely for me, at least — a much more solid person. You still do all the same s—t that you did before,” he shared, noting that his priorities certainly changed. “For example, obsessiveness, worrying about X or Y — it does calm that kind of outlook on life because it makes you realize that certain things are a bit more important.”
The Divergent star met his wife while they were both attending the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in England. In 2018, two years after meeting, the couple tied the knot. The couple went on to star in Sanditon together. In the past, Theo has described his wife as, “very sanguine, thoughtful and funny.” Of their relationship, her shared that it “made sense pretty early on” and that “it’s interesting being together this long because we have navigated through the very beginnings of our careers.”
