Actress Lauren Lapkus, known for starring in television series Orange Is The New Black and The Big Bang Theory, has announced that she is pregnant with her rainbow baby! She and her husband, Mike Castle, will be welcoming their first child this summer. She’s even revealed the gender of her little one!
It’s a girl! In her post, Lauren captioned, “We are expecting a baby girl this summer. I am over the moon. So grateful and happy.” Mike, who stars in the TV series Brews Brothers, shared a different image to announce the news. In it, the actor wore a sweater with the words “Dad” stitched on it. He captioned his image, “Can you even believe it?! Baby girl on the way this summer.”
While the couple each added the hashtag rainbow baby on their posts, they haven’t opened up about a pregnancy loss. The term is used to describe a child born after a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, or infant loss.
Lauren and Mike tied the knot on October 5, 2018. They said their vows in a simple courthouse ceremony. In reflecting on her big day, Lauren shared “We are so happy! The whole day was exactly what we wanted it to be: stress-free, romantic, and fun.” Mike shared, “We kept everything super simple by getting married at the courthouse and having an intimate dinner party after, with a truly breathtaking performance from our musician friend, Dan Mangan. I am thrilled to be married to my best friend!”
