Actress and entrepreneur Shay Mitchell has announced that she is pregnant! This new one will be the Dollface star and her long-time partner Matte Babel’s second child together.
Shay shared the news in an emotional post, as the announcement comes one week after the Béis founder lost her grandmother. “Saying goodbye to a loved one while simultaneously experiencing the joy of welcoming another into this world is the great cycle of life,” the Pretty Little Liars alum started who post, which was accompanied by three images of Shay with her bare baby bump. ” It is also my most challenging season to date. I can’t help but think this was the universe’s plan all along, knowing I would need otherworldly joy to cushion the blow of losing one of the most important people in my life. Yet, this is proof that love, life, and loss can profoundly exist all at the same time. Gram, I miss you every day. Little one, we are so excited to meet you. I breathe a sigh of peace knowing you two are already connected in such a cosmic way.”
One week ago, Shay shared that she lost her grandmother, revealing that she was “heartbroken.” “She was and will forever be my best friend,” she shared in her post. “From the imaginary games she would play with me when I was little to picking me up from high school because I was being bullied, to keeping scrapbooks of every article and magazine cover I have ever been in, she was my # 1 cheerleader.”
Shay and Matte welcomed their first child together in October 2019, a daughter named Atlas Noa.
Shay and Matte have been together since 2017. The entrepreneur has opened up about marriage not being a priority for her. Last year, she revealed that “there’s no pressure here. I love it. I love the fact that we come home and every day I’m like, ‘I choose you and you choose me.’ It keeps us on our toes. I’m like, ‘Hey, I can walk out. I don’t need to go through a lawyer, I can just walk out.’ And same with him. It keeps it sexy.”
