Actress Stephanie Beatriz, most notably known for portraying the role of Detective Rosa Diaz on the series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, has welcomed her first child with her husband Brad Hoss! Stephanie shared a picture of herself and her newborn going home from the hospital “in style (and more importantly SAFETY) in @nuna_usa’s Pipa car seat,” the actress wrote in her post.
It’s a girl! Stephanie shared her newborn daughter’s name as well as the pronunciation. “Her name is Rosaline: pronounced Roz-uh-line.” Rosaline is a Spanish name that means “little rose.” The actress, 40, reflected on this new experience of motherhood in her announcement. “I’m very very in awe of the entire experience of having a kiddo. it is INCREDIBLE and HARD AF and BEAUTIFUL and EMOTIONAL, and I can’t remember ever being this amazed and feeling so overwhelmingly full of gratitude. Roz, you are so cool.”
Brad, a fellow actor, shared the same image on his Instagram page to announce the news. He wrote, “My precious cargo. We brought Rosaline (Roz-uh-line) home last week, and it’s been a wild & crazy & amazing adventure every step of the way.”
The couple announced they were expecting in June of this year. Stephanie, who identifies as bisexual, chose to share the exciting news during Pride Month and was featured in People’s Pride Issue to discuss expanding her family as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
In the feature, Stephanie shared that she didn’t always see herself as the type to settle down with a family. “I didn’t think that a committed partnership was really for me,” she told the magazine. “I couldn’t really see kids. It wasn’t that I was closed off to it. It was more that I couldn’t quite see how a baby fit into the life that I was building.” That all changed when she met Brad. “was able to be my fullest, most authentic self around Brad. He’s extremely empathetic and open.”
Congratulations to Stephanie and Brad on growing their family! We wish them lots of love as they embrace life with their daughter Rosaline.
