Model Adwoa Aboah is a mom! The model took to Instagram to announce the birth of her first baby with her partner Daniel Wheatley, a cinematographer. “Our hearts have literally exploded into a million pieces.”

Adwoa posted a series of photos on Instagram to share the birth of her baby, with the first image showing the model holding her newborn’s foot. The remainder of the images showed Adwoa at the hospital preparing to welcome her baby. The couple welcomed a baby girl on August 23rd and named her Shy Trinity Afua Wheatley. Of her daughter’s birth, Adwoa shared, “Our stunner of a daughter was born at 11:22pm on the 23rd of August by emergency cesarean.”

After announcing her daughter’s birth, the model shared some information about Shy’s two middle names. For Afua, she shared a screenshot that explains, “Afua means ‘born on Friday,’ following the Akan tradition of naming children after the day they were born.” The name does coincide with Shy’s August 23rd birth date, a Friday. The explanation continued, “Linked to fertility by its variant Efua, Afua celebrates the value of life, the gift of birth, and existence itself.” The name Trinity is after a character by the same name in The Matrix movies, a role portrayed by actress Carrie-Anne Moss.

Adwoa announced she was pregnant in grand fashion while walking the red carpet at this year’s Met Gala. At the event, the model wore a red two-piece set from H&M that exposed her bump featuring a capelet in red silk organza with tulle ruffles over a rhinestone embroidered bralette and the top coordinated with a red silk taffeta bubble-hem skirt.

Congratulations to Adwoa and Daniel for welcoming baby Shy!
