Last September, soccer player Alex Morgan announced that she and her husband Servando Carrasco were expecting their second baby together. The news came alongside the Olympic athlete’s retirement announcement. Now, Alex has revealed the sex of her little one.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the National Women’s Soccer League player opened up about her partnership with Babylist. During her interview, she revealed her baby’s sex: it’s a boy! “As I retired from soccer and moved into post-soccer life,” Alex shared, “it was just a natural partnership for myself and Babylist because I’m getting more into mom-ing and having this baby boy coming up in just two months.”
Through her Babylist partnership, the soccer star’s Alex Morgan Organization is helping five coaching moms, who are also expecting babies, complete their registries. “”It was great to have the support from Babylist and just know that they really provide so many resources, not only for myself but other moms as well, and then their partnership as well with my foundation in providing five coaching moms their complete registry, it just was really a no-brainer.”
Alex spoke about her passion for her organization, which was inspired following the birth of her first baby, a girl named Charlie, in May 2020. “Having my daughter almost five years ago, it felt at times like a really isolating experience and also felt like I was figuring it out on my own in a lot of ways. The pregnancy workouts, postpartum, getting my body back in shape while also breastfeeding, not having a nursery room at the training facility and just figuring everything out like I was the first athlete to do this when I in no way was.” She continued, “So I think through my foundation, drawing attention and appreciation for new moms, especially moms in sport, was really important to me.”
