Olympic track and field athlete Allyson Felix is adding another bundle of joy to her family. Ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, the athlete and her husband Kenneth Ferguson announced they are expecting their second baby together. “Adding a little more love to our family.”

Sharing pregnancy news wasn’t the only announcement the 11-time Olympic medalist had to share. She also revealed the sex of her second baby and her due date. It’s a boy! The little one will be arriving next April. In revealing the news, Allyson shared a post of her family on Instagram with her 4-year-old daughter Camryn holding a letter board that read: “Baby Brother April 2024.” The pregnancy news comes ahead of Camryn’s 5th birthday next week.

The Gold-Medalist has been vocal over the past several years about support of mothers, especially in the workplace, following the athlete’s public fallout with her sponsor Nike. Tension rose after Allyson gave birth to Camryn, who was born via emergency c-section at 32 weeks due to the athlete’s severe preeclampsia. In 2019, the Saysh founder claimed she was pressured by Nike to return to training very soon after her pregnancy, and reduced her salary by 70% compared with her previous earnings with the sponsor. Allyson called out the company’s conflicting support of women in previous campaigns despite failing to support her in her time of need.

At the time, Allyson expressed her frustration and decision to speak out. “I’m not willing to accept the enduring status quo around maternity. I asked Nike to contractually guarantee that I wouldn’t be punished if I didn’t perform at my best in the months surrounding childbirth. I wanted to set a new standard. If I, one of Nike’s most widely marketed athletes, couldn’t secure these protections, who could?” She has since shared that having her daughter gave her the strength she needed to stand up for what she believed in.

Congratulations to Allyson and Kenneth on the news of their second baby! We wish them lots of love as they prepare for their son’s arrival.
