Jedidiah Duggar, who goes by Jed, has announced that he and his wife Katey are expecting their first child together! The couple shared the news on their joint Instagram page and also vlogged about their news on their YouTube channel.
The couple shared a photo of them kissing while Katey held a letterboard sign that read: “And then there were three. Baby Duggar. Spring ’22.” In the caption, Jed quipped, “She tested positive, but not for Covid.”
In their YouTube video, they started out sharing the date (September 1st) and that they were on their way home from church. They stopped at Walmart to use the bathroom and Katey, who had been feeling cramping, bloating, and other odd symptoms decided to take a pregnancy test. The test was positive! Their vlog continued with showing them shopping for the supplies for their baby announcement and sharing the exciting news with their families.
On September 3rd, they went to a Northwest Arkansas Naturals baseball game. The game was an event their church was attending and both of their families would be there. They pulled some strings and announced the news to the stadium. When the couple came home after the game, they wrote a sweet message to their child on a Nationals baseball that read: “9/3/21: We announced our pregnancy at the Nationals baseball game tonight. We can’t wait to have you on our team. Love Mommy and Daddy.”
Jed and Katey tied the knot just a few months ago in April 2021. The couple had been quietly courting for a year before their wedding. They were married in a private ceremony in Arkansas surrounded by family and close friends. When announcing their nuptials on Instagram, Jed wrote, “For a long time I have prayed for my future spouse, not knowing who that person would be. God answered my prayers far beyond what I could have ever imagined in Katey! We have enjoyed quietly developing our relationship over the past year and every moment together has been amazing! I’m so grateful God brought Katey into my life and excited to share with you all that today she became my wife! Katey, the thought of sharing the rest of my life with you makes me the happiest man in the world! I love you so much!!”
