Quarterback Baker Mayfield is a dad! The Tampa Bay Buccaneers player and his wife Emily Wilkinson have announced the arrival of their first baby together, born on April 9th. “Everything we prayed for and more.”

Emily, an influencer, revealed the couple’s news in a post on her Instagram Stories, but did not share any images of her newborn. The couple welcomed a baby girl, news they shared when they announced their pregnancy last December. Baker and Emily named their daughter Kova Jade Mayfield. Emily wrote in her post, “Bayby girl joined us Tuesday night just before 7:30pm. She is truly everything we prayed for, and more.” She went on to give an update to how their family – including the couple’s dog Fergus – are adapting to a new family member. “We’re enjoying life as a family of 4 – Fergus is so gentle & curious, Daddy is so smitten, and Mama wants to pause time & make these days last forever.”

Following her announcement post, Emily shared an image of the football player holding Kova while Fergus sat close by. The influencer wrote on the image, “My heart could explode at any minute, I swear. Bake was born to be a dad.”

Baker and Emily met in 2017 through a mutual friend who played matchmaker for the couple. Emily has previously shared that “it was love at first sight.” The couple tied the knot in July 2019 in an outdoor ceremony at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California. Of where they chose to marry, Emily shared in an interview with Brides, “I’m from Nebraska and Baker is from Texas, so we both really love the outdoors. Calamigos was the only venue we looked at because it reminded us of home. It was so romantic, and didn’t feel stuffy or over-the-top.”

Congratulations to Baker and Emily on the arrival of baby Kova!
