Reality star Ben Higgins is a dad! The former ‘Bachelor’ star and his wife Jessica Clarke announced the birth and moniker of their first baby together. The news comes shortly after Ben teased that he and Jessica were in the hospital preparing for their little one’s arrival.
Ben and his wife announced in August that they were expecting a baby and shared at the time that they would welcome a daughter. “Baby girl Higgins has entered the world,” Ben began in his post on Instagram. “She is healthy.” The new dad shared a picture of him with tears in his eyes looking over Jessica’s hospital bed as she held their newborn close.
The Almost Famous podcast host gave an update on his wife and expressed gratitude in his caption, “I don’t yet have words for what just happened but the update right now is we have a daughter and Jess is recovering so well. The nurses and doctors who cared for us should be lifted high.” He continued, gushing over his newborn daughter, “Also I am biased but God spent a little more time on our baby girl because she’s real beautiful! This beauty will be revealed soon but first she needs a bath.”
In a later post, the reality star shared the first image of his newborn and revealed her moniker: Winona Elane Higgins. He added that they will call her “Winnie for short if she’s ok with it.” He continued to share his awe over entering fatherhood writing, “Words still are hard for me, I won’t accurately articulate what just happened. But for the last 2 mornings I wake up feeling like it was a dream, reminding myself of the blessings of Jesus, then looking over to see Jessica and Winona and being mentally reunited with the truth that I am a dad and a husband and that we are a family. Life starts again for us, a new chapter we enter into, and so many moments of lacking the words but feeling God inspired love.”
The reality star met his now-wife in 2018 on social media. The couple tied the knot at The Estate in Cherokee Dock in Tennessee in November 2021. On the couple’s anniversary last year, Ben commemorated the anniversary on Instagram writing, “I know we all think this (and it’s a good thing we all do) but my wife is the greatest of all time. I get to wake up everyday to beauty, kindness, love, and support. Happy 3 year anniversary @jessclarke_ thank you for your generosity in settling with me, I will be forever grateful.”
