Singer and songwriter Billy Corgan is growing his family! The Smashing Pumpkins Frontman and his wife Chloé Mendel announced they are expecting their third baby together. “We are overjoyed to announce that our family is growing!”
The couple shared the news in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, noting that this stage is “an exciting time for us, although unexpected!” The “1979” singer and Chloé didn’t reveal any details about their baby including their due date or sex.
The couple share two children together: Augustus Juppiter, 8, and Philomena Clementine, 5, who goes by her middle name. They shared how their children took the news of a new sibling arriving soon. “While Augustus was overjoyed, Clementine, the younger of the two, asked if the baby was made already and shed a few tears of concern, which was honestly adorable,” the “Sighommi” singer shared in his interview. “Now, both kids are beaming, and it makes it so much fun to share the joy of bringing more love into our family. We are truly blessed.”
Billy and the CEO and co-creative director of House of Gilles have been together since 2012. The couple got engaged on Chloé’s 30th birthday in September 2022 and tied the knot one year later in September 2023. In honor of their nuptials, Chloé penned a touching tribute to her husband on Instagram that read, in part, “How lucky am I to be able to grow into the world with you by my side. When I imagine a partnership, I think that’s what we have. And I can only hope that others can experience this too in their lifetimes.”
