Actress Bridgit Mendler, most notably known for portraying the role of Teddy Duncan in the Disney Channel series Good Luck Charlie, has revealed surprising news for her family. The former actor took to X, formerly Twitter, to share new career news as well as revealed she became a mom. The news comes four years after Bridgit’s last acting gig in 2019.

Following the release of her most recent acting job as Emily Quinn in the limited series Merry Happy Whatever, Bridgit stepped away from acting to continue pursuing her Harvard law degree and a PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Ahead of revealing she became a mom, Bridgit announced the launch of her startup Northwood Space. “At Northwood Space we have our sights on building a data highway between earth and space. We are designing shared ground infrastructure from first principles to expand access to space,” Bridgit wrote on X.

A few hours after announcing her startup, Bridgit shared something else she had been up to since departing from acting. In another X post, the Father of the Year star shared an image of her husband Griffin Cleverly on the beach at sunset with a young child. “The other news I wanted to share,” she wrote, “is I’m a mama to a sweet 4yo boy. Started fostering in 2021 adopted near Christmas of 2022. I’m so lucky — being a parent is the biggest gift and most defining experience there is.” No details about her newest family member were shared, including the 4-year-old’s name.

Congratulations to Bridgit on her exciting career and family news! We wish her continued success in all aspects of her life.
