WNBA star Candace Parker has announced the arrival of her second child! The Chicago Sky player and her partner, Russian basketball player Anya Petrakova, welcomed their first child together last week on February 11th. Anya, it was revealed in the initial announcement back in December, carried the couple’s baby.
It’s a boy! “We are in absolute love and utter appreciation that Goose chose us. Welcome to the fam SON,” Candace wrote in the announcement post. The couple chose the name Airr Larry Petrakov Parker for their little one.
The couple announced in December that they were expecting their first child together and they also took the moment to share another piece of exciting news. They were married! They revealed they had actually been married two years prior, but chose to wait to make an official announcement. “My heart could have exploded,” Candace shared at the time. “I cried like a baby….To know me or you is to know our love. This journey hasn’t been easy. I am proud of us and what we have built and who we have grown to become both individually and together.”
Candace has another child from a previous relationship, her 12-year-old daughter Lailaa Nicole, whom Candace shares with her ex-husband Shelden Williams. Anya plays an important role in Lailaa’s life, as Candace shared on Instagram last year. “Thank you for always loving Lailaa as your own.”
