Chrissy Teigen took to Instagram today to share exciting news about her family. The former model and her husband, musician John Legend, are expecting a child!
The couple’s news comes nearly two years after they tragically lost a baby in September of 2020. Chrissy was 20 weeks pregnant when she lost her third child, a son whom the couple named Jack, due to pregnancy complications, one of which included a partial placenta abruption diagnosis. “The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again,” the cookbook author began her announcement post.
Chrissy continued her caption by openly sharing how she struggled with sharing her pregnancy news again after losing Jack. “Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still. I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing. Ok phew it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!” Chrissy did not reveal how far along she is in her pregnancy.
The couple, who met in 2006 and married in 2013, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Luna, on April 14, 2016, and had their second child, a son named Miles, on May 16, 2018. On Mother’s Day this past year, the Grammy award-winner shared a touching post for his wife writing, “Happy Mother’s Day to @chrissyteigen, my love, my partner and the best mommy our kids could ask for. We’re so grateful for you. You make all of our lives better—full of love, joy and adventure.”
Congratulations to Chrissy and John on their pregnancy news! We wish them good health and all the best as they prepare to grow their family.
