Last October, professional soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo revealed that he and his partner Georgina Rodríguez were expecting twins. A few months later, they announced they were expecting a boy and a girl. Now, the Manchester United F.C. forward has shared an update on his twins.
In a heartbreaking post, Cristiano and Georgina revealed that the couple lost their baby boy. “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel.” The couple shared that the birth of their daughter is helping them get through this difficult loss. “Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”
The couple expressed their gratitude to their medical team in their post writing, “We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support.” Cristiano and Georgina parent four children together, two boys named Cristiano and Mateo, and two girls named Eva and Alana.
To close out their post, the couple asked for privacy and shared a touching message for their son. “We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy during this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
