Professional dancers Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy, who both appear on Dancing with the Stars, have welcomed their first child together! Their little one arrived on January 10th. “Our world is forever changed.”
The couple announced the news in a joint Instagram post that featured a black-and-white image of the couple holding hands with their newborn. It’s a boy! Jenna and Val did not reveal the name they chose for their son. However, the So You Think You Can Dance alum did share last July that the couple had chosen names for their little one years prior. “We actually have had a boy and a girl name picked out for three years now. Val actually picked out the name for our boy, so we have it.”
While they had names picked out, Jenna revealed that they may not go with their choices. “I’m a visual person for sure. And so I have this weird thing where I don’t want to be 100 percent set on it, even though we both love it. I really want to see him first before we make that decision. So far we have one that I’m pretty set on, so who knows, it might switch the day of.” We’ll have to wait and see what the couple ultimately decides on, should they choose to divulge that information.
Jenna and Val are rumored to have begun dating in 2015 after first meeting the year before. They did not make their relationship public until February 2016. The couple broke up briefly at the end of 2016 before rekindling their relationship in June 2017. During the summer of 2018, Val asked Jenna to marry him. He proposed while the two were vacationing in Venice, Italy. On April 13, 2019, the couple tied the knot in a romantic oceanside ceremony at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palo Verdes, California.
Congratulations to Jenna and Val on the arrival of their first child! We hope they are settling well into their new role as parents.
