General Hospital star Ashley Jones and her husband, Joel Henricks, have welcomed their first child together – a son named Hayden Joel Henricks. According to People, the baby was born on May 24, weighing 7 lbs., 9 oz. and measuring 21 inches long.
Jones told the magazine, “Holding our child the minute he arrived was the most mesmerizing, perfect moment…Everyone says it but they say it for a reason: my heart bursts with joy and love. I feel this deep need to connect.”
The soap star explained that her baby boy did not have a name until after he was born. “It all came together in the hospital. Joel’s middle name is his father’s name. It’s a tradition that’s been passed on in Joel’s family that we wanted to continue, hence Hayden Joel.”
According to babynames.com, Hayden is a gender neutral name of English origin which means, “from the hay downs” and Joel is of Hebrew origin, meaning “God will be willing.”
Hayden joins big brother Huck, 4, Ashley husband’s son from a previous relationship. The proud father told People “the pinnacle of his life was watching his firstborn, Huck, meet his new brother. Huck was gentle and immediately went to get one of his favorite toys to show Hayden.”
