At the beginning of the year, actors Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed announced they were growing their family. Today, the Twilight star took to her Instagram Stories to share the couple had welcomed their second baby. “Born at home in water and surrounded by so much love, in an instant, my heart doubled in size.”
Nikki shared a close up image of herself holding the hand of her newborn baby. “A few weeks ago we welcomed our son on what can only be described as one of the most beautiful days of my life,” she began her post. She didn’t reveal the name of her baby boy, but did share a message about privacy. Both Nikki and Ian are mindful of what they share about their personal lives. “As all of you know, I have very strong boundaries with social media, especially when it comes to children and what I choose to put out into the world. I wanted to share first so I can say thank you in advance for honoring those boundaries and for sending positivity, kindness and LOVE.”
The actress drew speculation as to whether she had given birth over the past few days after recent social media posts. On June 24th, Nikki shared images from a friend’s wedding celebration and the actress was notably no longer pregnant. While fans wondered if the couple’s baby had been born, it wasn’t until today that Nikki confirmed it.
The Vampire Diaries star and his wife welcomed their first child, daughter Bohdi Soleil, in July 2017. While the couple share some images of their daughter, her face is always hidden as part of their commitment to holding social media boundaries.
