Model Iskra Lawrence is growing her family! The Aerie model has announced that she and her partner Philip Payne are expecting their second baby together. “I can’t believe I can finally share this big little news with you all.”
The couple’s pregnancy news comes almost exactly four years after they welcomed their first baby, a son named Alpha in April 2020. “4 years later and we are finally going to be a family of 4,” the model wrote in the caption. As part of her announcement, Iskra partnered with First Repsonse to host a giveaway, “giving away all $20k to two of YOU to support you on your fertility journey.” The model hosting a similar giveaway during her first pregnancy and gave an update writing, “4 years ago I gave away $10k each to Sara & Skye during my first pregnancy and it’s hard not to cry writing this but both now have their rainbow babies 🌈and it’s truly been my greatest honour being part of their journeys and I can’t wait to do this again.”
After welcoming Alpha in 2020, the couple detailed the traumatic birth experience when he “wasn’t breathing for two or three seconds.” Iskra recalled, “When you look back and you just see a lifeless, blue body … that was really scary.” Alpha was given oxygen and eventually cried and the couple was extremely relieved. “It all happened so quick that it wasn’t traumatizing. I couldn’t even take in what was happening ’cause [her birth team] just dealt with it. She was like, ‘I know what exactly I’m doing, there’s nothing scary here, we’ve got this.'”
Iskra and Philip, a music producer, first met in January 2018 at a Grammy party. Philip has recalled previously that while the model had caught his eye before on online or at social events, this particular night “left an impression. I saw her and tried to not act like I was looking at her. She said she caught my eye, but I thought I was being pretty smooth. I walked up to her and the first thing I said was, ‘Are you in a relationship?’ She said, ‘It’s complicated,’ and I introduced myself and put my number in her phone. Then I just walked off. I thought I left an impression. She smiled, it was perfect.”
