Reality star Jessa Seewald (née Duggar) is adding another bundle of joy to her family! The Counting On star and her husband Ben Seewald have announced Jessa is pregnant with the couple’s 5th baby. The news comes after Jessa suffered a miscarriage last year.

Jessa shared the news of her pregnancy on the family’s YouTube channel. “After a heartbreaking loss last year, we’re so thankful God has blessed us with a rainbow baby!” In the video, she showed a positive pregnancy test and said, “Just this past week we found out some wonderful news that our rainbow baby is on the way and we could not be more excited.” The reveal was just a snippet of the video, which continued into a vlog-style video of Jessa and Ben taking a “romantic getaway.”

Jessa’s pregnancy news comes about six month after the couple announced they suffered a miscarriage. “Nothing could have prepared me for the weight of those words in that moment,” she shared at the time, recalling learning the news. “At that moment I was just in complete shock. I didn’t have words. I just immediately started crying. We were just sitting there holding hands and crying, like, ‘What do we do from here?'” In her video, she went on to discuss the tragedy of her miscarriage, “I feel like in some ways miscarriages can be so jarring because you don’t have clear signs of something going wrong. I had minimal spotting for 24 hours, and that was it.” She experienced complication passing the fetus while at home and ended up going to the hospital for a dilation and curettage (D & C) procedure. She shared her gratitude going into the procedure sharing, “I was able to thank God in that moment for giving us this life, even if we wouldn’t be able to hold this baby in our arms.”

The 19 Kids and Counting star shares four children with Ben: two sons named Spurgeon and Henry and two daughters named Ivy and Fern, the youngest of whom was born in July 2021.

Congratulations to Jessa and Ben on the news of their rainbow baby.
