Actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson, famously known for starring in the TV series Modern Family as Mitch Pritchett, has shared exciting family news. He and his husband Justin Mikita are expecting their second child together!
Jesse shared a video on his Instagram page to reveal the news and began by referencing the horrific shooting that occurred this week in Uvalde, Texas. “There is a lot of really horrible stuff going on in the world right now,” he began, “so Justin and I wanted to share a little bit of good news with you. We are expanding our family.” The couple is expecting their second child this fall. ” We are so excited for Beckett to have a sibling.” Jesse and Justin welcomed their first child together, a son named Beckett Mercer Ferguson-Mikita on July 7, 2020.
In honor of the couple growing their family, the couple is working to support members of the LGBTQIA+ community to raise money for their non-profit organization PRONOUN, an organization that fights for LGBTQIA+ equality. “We are very excited to have a little one on the way but we are also so proud to support that choice to do it,” the actor shared. The couple partnered with MiliMili to create limited edition products for parents to include sleep sacks, crib sheets, and more. 100% of the proceeds will go to PRONOUN.
The Take Me Out star shared that these funds will be used “to target states where reproductive health and transgender rights are currently under constant attack.” He also shared that, given everything going on in the country today, he and Justin would be donated $25,000 to each of the following organizations: ACLU, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, legal, and advocacy organization, National Abortion Federation (NAF), an organization that unites, represents, serves, and supports abortion providers, and Everytown for Gun Safety, a movement of parents, students, survivors, educators, gun owners, and concerned citizens fighting to end gun violence and build safer communities.
