Reality star Lauren Bushnell Lane and country music artist Chris Lane have announced exciting family news today. The couple is expecting their second child together! The news comes one year after the couple welcomed their first child on June 8, 2021.

Lauren, famously known for starring in season 20 of The Bachelor, revealed in her announcement post that her second child will be arriving in October. “I cannot wait to see you as a big brother, Dutty!” she added. The couple’s first son, Dutton Walker Lane, will be celebrating his first birthday in just two days. Lauren shared with People that the news of her pregnancy came as quite a shock. “To be quite honest, I’ve never been more shocked in my entire life, because this was very much an unexpected surprise.”

Despite the pregnancy being unexpected, Lauren shared that she’s grateful. “We had planned on having at least two kids, so we’re very thankful that it was able to happen for us, even if it wasn’t necessarily on our exact timing. We’re both just incredibly excited.” The couple speculated on what the gender of their second child might be and the “Big, Big Plans” singer revealed a familial tradition that seems to have formed. “My family as a whole, all the guys in our family, we make a lot of boys. No one in the family — minus one person — has even had a girl. So if I had to guess, I’m going to carry on that tradition and it’s probably going to be a boy.”

Chris and Lauren’s relationship became public in November of 2018 after the couple had been just friends. After dating for less than a year, they became engaged in June 2019 with Chris proposing in the backyard of Bushnell’s family’s Oregon home. The couple tied the knot a few months later in a garden ceremony in Nashville in October 2019.

Congratulations to Chris and Lauren on the news of their second child! We wish them lots of love as they prepare for life with two kids under two years old.
